Position Summary and Responsibilities
The Advisory Engineer will be responsible for providing the highest level of technical expertise in organizations performing analysis, design, development, and/or test functions. Generally serves in a staff capacity, providing independent advice and review in major projects and programs.
+ Establishes and explores creative projects on future products and programs and influences research, design, and development activities accordingly.
+ Reviews current projects to assure maximum use of past experience and new technology, and to anticipate and provide for future technical requirements.
+ Participates in the more complex projects in the solution of major technical problems.
+ Conducts preliminary studies and new business development, including presentations to customers and preparation of proposals.
+ Provides specialty training and consultation as required to keep professional personnel abreast of new developments.
+ Seeks out and attracts highly competent individuals to the Company. Sets up acceptance standards for and screens high level personnel in specialty area.
+ Provides specialty leadership and makes the Company’s capabilities known through participation in professional society and industry committee work, and customer and university liaison.
Education and Experience:
Requires a degree in a recognized field of engineering, with graduate training highly desirable. Normally requires approximately fourteen (14) years of applicable experience with increasing technical responsibilities. However, assignments are primarily made on the basis of demonstrated capabilities and reputation in the area of specialization.
MS or BS Degree in Electrical Engineering.
