Barrios Technology Ltd. is a woman-owned and operated small business headquartered in Houston, Texas. We provide a full spectrum of engineering, operations and related technology services in support of the aerospace community and have successfully supported NASA for over 36 years. Barrios Technology presently works as the prime contractor for the Mission and Program Integration (MAPI) contract along with four subcontractor companies to provide support to International Space Station activities at NASA’s Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).

In addition Barrios Technology provides subcontractor support to:

+ Boeing on the Boeing Engineering and Technical Services (BETS) contract at both NASA’s Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX) and Marshall Space Flight Center (Huntsville, AL)

+ Jacobs Technology on the JSC Engineering and Technical Services (JETS) contract at NASA’s Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX)

+ COLSA Corporation on the Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC) contract at Marshall Space Flight Center (Huntsville, AL)

+ Rothe Development, Inc. on the Joint Operations, Integrated Systems Technology (JOIST) Contract (Baseline B) and multiple-award, indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract segment.

+ Booz Allen Hamilton on the Joint Operations, Integrated Systems Technology (JOIST) multiple-award, indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract segment.

Our long-term client relationship with COLSA Corporation has led to a need for a Payload Operations Integration Center (POIC) Integration Engineer (PIE) on the Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC) contract at Marshall Space Flight Center (Huntsville, AL).

HOSC provides engineering, operations and maintenance, system development services and tools for the International Space Station and other program and project mission services. The Barrios team provides Information Technology (IT) and IT infrastructure support to the Payload Integration Operations Center (POIC).

The Payload Operations Integration Center (POIC) Integration Engineer (PIE) will:

+ Assist International Space Station (ISS) Program Payload customers with operational concept development, identify and define support requirements for the payload developer, provide technical assistance on the payload developer’s use of Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC) services and communicate overall payload status updates to NASA.

+ Provide collection, formulation, integration, analysis and processing of system, mission and communication requirements from internal and external payload customers.

+ Evaluate mission support requirements for HOSC communications and data systems against current capabilities, verify operations procedures and management planes, and ensure that all necessary equipment is in operating condition prior to scheduled activity support.

+ Ensure inter-center operation support requirements and implementation program commitments are fulfilled.

+ Integrate requirements and systems to enhance efficiencies and minimize costs.

+ Participate in Technical interchange Meetings (TIM), Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) at customer locations as needed.

+ Work special projects as required.

+ Forecast and assess future mission requirements.

+ Participate in new ground system services requirement definition and design processes to make sure new services satisfy the future needs of customers.

+ Maintain the HOSC POIC Capabilities Document.

+ Be responsible for creating test plans and procedures.

+ Routinely provide work leadership to lower level employees.

+ Perform other duties as required.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

+ BS degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of appropriate and progressive experience; additional relevant education may be substituted for progressive experience.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills for interfacing with customers including International Space Station (ISS) Program International Partners.

+ Ability to work independently where knowledge, judgment and initiative are relied upon to make decisions regarding matters in execution of required task.

+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Preferences:

+ Working knowledge of current HOSC systems and services is highly desired.

+ Familiarity with the HOSC, POIF and the ISS Program environment is highly desired.

Essential Requirements

+ Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

+ Applicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

+ Work may involve sitting for extended periods.

+ May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.

+ Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.

+ Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

+ Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)

+ Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.

+ Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.

+ Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.

+ Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.

+ Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.

+ This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
