Fiberglass Laminator Trainee (Must meet OJT eligibility guidelines)

Job Description:

Seeking several Fiberglass Laminator Trainees to join our growing team. Laminate layers of fiberglass on molds. Fiberglass Laminator Trainees will learn to produce products and parts using fiberglass and other materials. This process begins with a mold into which the material is pressed, poured, or sprayed. Will work in a fast paced team environment with a positive attitude, while maintaining a clean work area and safe work habits.

Pay Rate: $10.00 to $12.00 per hour.

Work Schedule: 7:00 AM. to 3:30 PM. Monday through Friday. Overtime is available.

Benefits: BCBS after 6 months (partial pay).

Job Duties:

Inspect, clean, and assemble molds before beginning work. Tape off mold areas which are not to be laminated, using cellophane, wax paper, masking tape, or special sprays containing mold-release substances. Mix catalysts into resins, and saturate cloth and mats with mixtures, using brushes. Using rollers, release air bubbles and smooth seams. Spray chopped fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto prepared molds or dies using pneumatic spray guns with chopper attachments. Trim cured materials by sawing them with diamond-impregnated cutoff wheels. Trim excess materials from molds, using hand shears or trimming knives. Check completed products for conformance to specifications and for defects by measuring with rulers or micrometers, by checking them visually, or by tapping them to detect bubbles or dead spots. Keep work area clean and organized at all times.

Job Requirements: (Must meet OJT eligibility guidelines)

Requires High School Diploma or GED and a valid, current Driver’s License. The work environment is physically strenuous. The Trainee must be able to stand and climb steps for long periods of time. Requires understanding basic mathematics and be able to read a tape measure. Requires using basic power tools and measuring devices with a strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate has some industrial plant experience and have some carpentry, pipe fitting or sheet metal mechanic skills. Requires a drug screen
