Analyzes and interprets key performance indicator data, management dashboards, and balanced scorecards to proactively identify opportunities to enhance system performance and provide recommendations to senior leadership; understands and provides guidance on the unique attributes of the assigned departments to assist in improving revenue cycle implementation; performs designing, coding, testing, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of the revenue cycle systems; maintains a working knowledge of the integrated environment, to include an understanding of system interoperability and interfacing; analyzes, tests, debugs, corrects and/or modified existing programming languages according to program specification guidelines and industry best practices to improve quality and efficiency of complex revenue cycle systems; utilizes vendor and departmental supplies architectural tools for application development, support, and maintenance; reviews multiple reports to detect and resolve performance defects while creating solutions to prevent future defects; responds to ad-hoc requests and coordinates solutions in a timely manner; assists in the identification and resolution of problems during all phases of the system life cycle; manages multiple and competing tasks/priorities with delivery deadlines in fast paced, complex environment; assists with various special projects; participates in 24 hour on call rotation; remains available through electronic pager or telephone and responds in a timely and professional manner; prepares and presents written and oral presentations to leadership; communicates with administrators, staff, physicians, nurses, and vendors in person and via the telephone utilizing appropriate customer relation skills; documents day to day activities; maintains appropriate documentation of system processes and application development for systems support, training, and auditor requests; attends various meetings; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required; related duties as required.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and one year of experience as a computer programmer or systems analyst, supporting clinical applications or revenue cycle in a healthcare setting.
