Golder has a new opportunity for an Entry-Level Environmental Technician to join our team in Decatur, AL on a full-time basis. This entry-level position you will provide support for civil and environmental construction projects.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

+ Assistingin the field oversight and documentation programs to ensure projects arecompleted in accordance with the project design drawings, technicalspecifications, quality assurance testing plans, and project specifichealth and safety plans;

+ Assistingin the field sampling and testing soils, geosynthetic products, and otherconstruction materials;

+ Assistingin the field interpretation of project design drawings and technicalspecifications and communicating finding with the project engineers;

+ Assistingin the review and documenting project record documents, contractorrequests for payments, requests for additional information, change orders,and certificates of completion;

+ Performingfield activities either individually or as part of a team that may includethe collection of field data, completing field tests, observation ofconstruction activities, implementing health and safety procedures, andoversight of related subcontractor services and other field related activities;

+ Performingfield activities related to environmental compliance, stormwater pollutionprevention, and erosion and sediment control inspections and reporting;

+ Assistingwith the development and distribution of field notes, meeting minutes,project action item lists, internal tracking of projects activities, andgeneral project coordination activities in support of project managers;

+ Attendproject meetings and contribute in meeting the requirements and deadlinesassociated with the construction activities.

If you are looking to
begin a career in Construction Management and possess the following skills
and attributes, we encourage you to apply:

+ Minimum Associate degreefrom an accredited program in Environmental Science, Geology, or equivalentscience-related degree, Civil Engineering, or Engineering Technology

+ Fluency in commonsoftware such as Microsoft Office Suite, preferred exposure to GIS or Civil 3D,and other data analysis tools

+ Strong written andverbal communication skills, as well as excellent analytical capabilities

+ Willingness to regularlyperform field assignments under varying weather conditions and terrains

+ Willingness to travel.Golder’s global network of offices allows for many opportunities to work onprojects locally and around the world. We often have pressing needs forstaff to assist clients on national and international projects, and travel toassist on these assignments will be required.

+ Ability to lift andcarry field equipment up to 50 pounds
