This is professional administrative and supervisory work in directing professional, technical and clerical staff engaged in test development, validation and administration, job analysis, certifications, records management, and other areas of personnel and human resources management.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE WORK: An employee in this class is responsible for managing and supervising complex operations associated with the development, validation, administration and scoring of a variety of employment tests, job analyses, and management of records and performance evaluations (service ratings), and the formulation, utilization, and maintenance of eligible lists. The incumbent must be able to perform all statutory and administrative functions of the Personnel Director and Assistant Director in their absence. Work is performed with considerable latitude for independent judgment under the general supervision of the Assistant Director or Personnel Director, and supervision is exercised over professional, technical and clerical personnel as assigned.
