We are currently seeking Sr.Aviation Software Engineer in Huntsville, AL.
Selected Candidate will be responsible for the following:
Serves as a Software Engineer for the Improved Turbine Engine Program (ITEP), Integration and Test Team within ATE Project Office’s ITEP Product Office
Responsible for all software developments and software qualification efforts required for ITE’s successful integration into the selected FVL Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA) Competitive Prototype (CP) aircraft
Responsible for the assessment and management of all software and software documentation supporting ITE’s integration in selected FARA CP aircraft
Responsible for supporting and maintaining software engineering cognizance on all S&T efforts related to FARA’s ITE integration
Provides input in the development of FARA technical and contract requirements with respect to the ITE
Supports assessments of program/project technical risks and develops corresponding risk mitigation strategies
Provides support to the ITEP Integration and Test APM and ITEP Chief Engineer as required
Experience and Technical Knowledge:
10+ years of relevant work/job experience
Minimum of 5 years working on software developments for aviation systems
Experience in managing software development efforts
Experience in agile development
Experience with SAE ARP 4754/4761 and DO-178C certification
Experience with software development/verification tools to include integration testing in system integration labs (SILs)
Knowledge of DO-178C software artifacts and Stages of Involvement (SOI) audits
Knowledge of contract requirements and documents (Systems Engineering Plans, Statements of Work, etc.)
Skills, Competencies and Abilities:
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to support complex engineering tasks, work effectively with others, and support multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to complete high-priority projects under strict time constraints
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, DOORS (or other traceability tools), and available SE tools
