Machine Operator I (OJT) Summary of duties and responsibilities: Sets up, operates, and tends manually set industrial machines used to support mass production of HVAC and industrial refrigeration units. Machines used include manually set; drill presses, flex expander, straight copper machine, cut off saw, tube bender, and test tanks
Primary duties and responsibilities:
? This position operates either a drill press, flex expander, straight copper machine, cut off saw, tube bender, test tank operator
? Read plans and follow specifications
? Setting of machines done manually
? Follow safety procedures in place
? Deliver finished parts to proper location or contact person responsible for delivery
? Maintain stock of necessary items
? Perform lockout/tag out when necessary
? Other tasks assigned by team lead or supervisor
? Maintain a clean and safe work area.
? Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
? All production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of production.
Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:
? This position requires the ability to read plans to know what settings are needed on the machine
? This position requires the ability to manually set industrial machines
? This position requires high attention to safety and surrounding environment
? This position requires a high attention to detail
? Lockout/Tag out certification required
? The position will be required to perform basic math.
? High School diploma or GED required
Approximate Training Hours:
? 560 hours
Physical environment/working conditions: The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and exposure to loud noise for long periods throughout the day.
Equipment and Machinery used: power and hand tools, drill press, flex expander, straight copper machine, cut off saw, tube bender, test tank crane, air compressor
Personal Protective/ Safety Equipment used: Eye and ear protection required at all times. Some areas require steel-toed shoes. Gloves required at times. Some machines are equipped with individual safeties
Other: The position requires the ability to function as a member of a team and an individual. Safety procedures must be followed. Lockout/ Tag out certification must be maintained at all times. The position requires the ability to regularly lift up to 30 lbs.
