In your role as an Environmental Test Engineer, you will directly support a variety of Department of Defense weapon systems programs. The Environmental Test Engineer will be responsible for planning, execution and reporting of test programs for the Climatic Test Division of Redstone Test Center in support of the (RWESS) Redstone Wide Engineering Support Services contract. The Environmental Test Engineer will work with the customer to define test requirements, build cost proposals, develop test procedures and plans, evaluate and mitigate safety risks, support the execution of testing, evaluate and analyze the results of the testing, and perform test reporting. In addition to test program duties the Environmental Test Engineer will be assigned projects to improve the testing capabilities of the division. These may include projects focused on developing requirements for new systems, in-house design and fabrication, procurement and implementation of climatic test equipment, and instrumentation and controls. Other duties as assigned.
What you’ll do all day:
· Work as part of an Engineering team of mechanical, Electrical, and Aerospace engineers.
Use your skills in engineering to provide technical direction and knowledge in Climatic chamber testing (MIL-STD-810, DO-160, and AECTP 300s), adapting existing test equipment to meet customer test requirements, HVAC / Refrigeration, writing technical test procedures, and instrumentation and controls for climatic test equipment.
Utilizing technology (IT, Network, Automation) to improve processes.
Procurement and installation of climatic test equipment.
Communicate with engineers, technicians, and customers to discover and develop requirements with the goal of optimizing current and future designs.

Minimum requirements for this position:
· Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field from an accredited college/university and five (5) years of experience.
The candidate must be self-motivated, dependable, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Candidate must be capable of leading coordinated test efforts working with multiple disciplines.
Be flexible, adaptable and a problem solver.
Drug Screen required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Government security clearance.
Must be a US Citizen.
Desired skills and experience for this position:
Preference give to those who currently possess a Secret government security clearance.
Preference will be given to applicants who are familiar with Army aviation and missile systems.
Preference given to candidates who possess experience with MIL-STD-810 test standard.
