Job Description

The Electronic Maintenance Tech II performs a variety of simple to moderately complex tasks on electronic and electrical components to determine functioning level and capability, and performs troubleshooting.

Electronics Technician Maintenance II – Avionics

Applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents
Applies familiarity with interrelationships of circuits and judgement in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and review for compliance with accepted practices
Inspects and performs maintenance on aircraft electrical systems.
Ensures that the electrical systems on airplanes and helicopters are properly maintained and repaired.
Performs maintenance on tactical-communications-security, communication, navigation and flight control equipment
Works in coordination with immediate supervisor for technical guidance to ensure that all assignments are completed accurately and efficiently
The Electronics Technician Maintenance II may be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

Electronics Technician Maintenance II – Armament
Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in the AH-64D armament, electrical and avionics systems and components including solid state and transistorized subsystems according to pertinent technical manuals, directives and safety procedures.
Perform maintenance, authorized modifications and alignment on aircraft weapons components, fire control units, sighting elements, electronic, and mechanical devices.
Repair, replace and perform operational and preventive checks and alignments on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics and controlled cryptographic equipment.
Troubleshoot equipment wiring harnesses using technical manuals and schematic
drawings to diagnosis and isolate faults and effect repairs.

Test, troubleshoot and repair test sets and diagnostic equipment.
Maintain records on weapons and subsystems.
Requisition and maintain shop and bench stock for the armament, electrical and avionics systems.
Use and perform operator maintenance on common and special tools.
Prepare forms and records related to maintenance conducted.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities but will mentor/guide Technician I. This position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks and works alongside Technician III’s.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Beginner to intermediate computer skills specifically using MICROSOFT OFFICE Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or SOFTWARE programs. Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred
Ability to enter data accurately into databases.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with other crew members
Must possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others.
Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.
Ability to follow a process.
Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
Strong decision analysis and problem solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management.
Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to goals.
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently
Ability to multi-task
Climbs on top of and down from aircraft using aircraft hand/foot holds, capable of lifting up to 25 lbs. overhead, on feet all day, walk up to 2 miles per day.

Qualifications
Electronics Technician Maintenance II – Avionics
High School Diploma / Equivalent
Must be a graduate of Army Aviation Avionic Mechanic (15N) or Aircraft Electrician (15F) or other military service equivalent course.
Must have 10 years’ experience in troubleshooting and repair of aircraft electrical and avionics systems
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government SECURITY Clearance

Electronics Technician Maintenance II – Armament
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate.
Must be a graduate of AH-64 Armament/Electrical/Avionic Systems Repairer Course (15Y)
Must have six years’ experience maintaining Army AH-64D/E weapon systems.
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of aircraft weapons, weapon systems, and component parts.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance
