Job Description

Lead a diverse team of engineers to design, develop, and install rotary and fixed wing system upgrades for the US DoD and foreign military projects and programs. This person would lead and manage all technical aspects of the systems engineering lifecycle during design, development, production, and operational support. This position will own internal and external customer responsibilities for systems engineering requirements as stated herein. This person will be the technical lead for assigned projects and programs as well as professional development of mid-level and junior engineers in the design, development, and test phases for the integration of mission and avionics systems into military and/or commercial aircraft to include total and partial cockpit upgrades.

• Develop system requirements, architecture and interfaces for legacy aircraft systems
• Define aircraft systems and subsystem design packages to include creation of aircraft wiring diagrams, electrical or mechanical installation drawings and harness fabrication drawings using Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs
• Design system interfaces between new mission, or avionic systems and existing aircraft systems; requiring a strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals in both analog and digital avionics system level circuits
• Perform electrical and system wiring analysis in support of aircraft certifications to include Electrical Loads Analysis (ELA)
• Develop engineering analysis and reports as required to obtain airworthiness certification
• Provide on-aircraft engineering support and incorporation of changes during prototype, validation and VERIFICATION modifications
• Define avionics and electrical system and subsystem test plans, procedures, and reports
• Perform aircraft avionics and electrical system and subsystem post modification Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP)
• Provide avionics and electrical systems subject matter expertise and solve complex functional and SYSTEM PERFORMANCE problems during post modification testing
• Support component level qualification testing
•Communicates and coordinates with customer, program management, and government agencies technical representatives in determining program needs, and the analysis and resolution of specialized engineering problems
•Knowledgeable of DoD and commercial aircraft electrical design requirements and design specifications to include SAE AS50881 aerospace vehicle wiring requirements
• Knowledgeable in aircraft systems level electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) mitigation techniques
• Knowledgeable of DoD and/or FAA airworthiness certification requirements
• Manage multiple projects concurrently

This position will have technical leadership responsibility and authority to flawlessly execute assigned task but no supervisory experience.

•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering with at least 20 years related experience is required
• Familiarity with modern avionics architectures, modern and legacy avionics systems, modern avionics data interface protocols, legacy avionics analog interfaces and system engineering processes
• Previous military aircraft systems integration of electrical, mechanical, and avionics systems experience is desired
• Extensive engineering design, development, and integration experience is required
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government SECURITY Clearance
