Job Summary The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering seeks qualified applicants for the position of Student Achievement Center Manager. This position will work under minimal supervision, oversees and manages the daily operations, facility management, and reservation processes and procedures for the Brown-Kopel Engineering Student Achievement Center.
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
Manages all reservations for the Engineering Student Center and other assigned locations in the College of Engineering.
Responsible for all bookings, billings, account collection, creation of fees, oversight of policies and procedures of locations and all guest questions or concerns.
Oversees the operations of the College of Engineering Welcome and Information Desk, including interviewing and training student workers and ensuring staffing requirements are met.
Creates and administers a comprehensive training program for staff members to ensure members are knowledgeable about services, programs, and facilities of the College of Engineering.
Provides room and space use analysis and projections. Uses data to review booking trends to provide efficient use of space.
Ensures spaces are appropriately arranged and correct audio-visual equipment is provided.
Compiles data through surveys, focus groups, word of mouth, and other forms of research to provide detailed input on ordering new equipment, facility needs, patron needs, customer service satisfaction, and improvement of all program areas within the spaces.
Collaborates with College of Engineering administration and departments, campus vendors, and student groups to provide professional and accessible spaces.
Inspects all rooms and spaces on a daily basis and coordinates a resolution to needs and shortcomings.
Ensures building custodial services are appropriate.
Serves as liaison to University Food Services and event caterers.
Processes invoices, billing and payments for the use of the Engineering Student Achievement Center and related facilities, equipment, and services of the College of Engineering.
Minimum Qualifications Entry into applicant pool requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and five (5) years of experience in event planning, building operations, and office procedures and practices.
Must have knowledge of budgeting practices, assessment, and strategic planning, reservation procedures, and building operations. Knowledge of event planning and office procedures and practices. Customer service orientated.
