Job Summary Student Affairs at Auburn University is seeking candidates for the position of Coordinator, Veterans Resource Center to assist student veterans successfully transition into the university setting. This position will provide overall guidance in development, planning, and implementation of new veterans programs and services. Essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:
-Acting as project leader in planning, coordinating, implementing, and overseeing activities to assist veteran programming related to academic support designed to benefit student veterans.
-Implementing programmatic policies and procedures for student services, education projects, and initiatives, ensuring goals and objectives are accomplished within parameters.
-Implementing and evaluating student leadership and mentoring programs and providing leadership and input into the development and execution of student veteran program directly related to Auburn Student Veterans Association (ASVA) and the Veterans Resource Center (VRC).
-Coordinating, planning, and organizing events such as special alumni events, student veterans outreach engagements, award ceremonies, and open houses.
-Assisting the VRC Director with developing goals and objectives for improving the ASVA through networking with campus and community constituents.
-Monitoring and tracking all undergraduate recruiting activities within the VRC; partnering with central recruiting staff to provide awareness and support materials for all recruiting efforts.
-Advising and instructing students and parents on financial aid issues regarding Federal Veterans Administration education benefits programs, scholarships, fellowships, and other assistantship programs.
Minimum Qualifications Entry into the applicant pool requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Counseling, Business, Management, Human Resources, Adult Education, or related field. Employer will consider advanced degree’s in lieu of experience.

Desired Qualifications Desired qualifications include experience in higher education administration, student programming, student life, higher education financial aid processing, previous work experience with veterans, and/or prior military experience.
Knowledge of federal rules and regulations governing veteran’s benefits and basic student academic policies and procedures is desired.
