Job Description

Engineers work in a variety of fields to analyze, develop and evaluate large-scale, complex systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
CREATE, execute, and analyze design functionality in proposals
Estimate levels of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, offer suggestions to improve processes, and provide comments on some aspects
Works collaboratively and professionally with other associates and subcontractor engineering firms in cross functional teams to achieve goals
Apply a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities in developing solutions in a timely fashion
Reviews product and/or application information including manuals and brochures for technical accuracy
May discussing proposals with clients
Prepare reports and presentations.
Resolve technical problems
Participate in reviews and analyze data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
Follow defined development processes
Formulate conceptual designs to meet customer requirements
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested
Evaluate product data and design from inspections and reports for conformance to engineering principles and regulatory requirements
Test theoretical designs
Provide subcontractor oversight by participating in subcontractor engineering peer reviews to ensure a high level of design confidence, fidelity and integrity in subcontractor’s designs.
Review technical reports and other documentation, such as handbooks and bulletins, for use by engineering staff
Pursue changes to existing processes when necessary
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal and SCANNER, constant use of sight abilities while scanning documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have minimal supervisory responsibilities. This position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.

Job Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Develop solutions to complex mechanical issues in the field of military rotary wing, fixed wing aircraft, and military land vehicles.
Must have an in depth understanding of military vehicle structures, load paths and designing for crash loads.
Possess in depth understanding and APPLICATION of military specifications and standards.
Effectively communicate with Airworthiness Authorities.
Ability to write and review airworthiness documents, plans and test procedures.
Possess in depth understanding of Mil-Std-31000, ASME Y14.100 and associated technical data package development specifications.
Develop CAD technical data packages consisting of 2D drawings, 3D models, and bills of materials using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Perform Structural/Stress Analyses utilizing Solidworks.
Familiarity with AutoCAD to develop or revise technical data packages.
Provide subcontractor oversight by reviewing and approving Contract Deliverable documents and reports such as Weight and Balance and System Safety Hazard Analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical engineering discipline from an accredited COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY and at least 12 years experience in electronic/mechanical hardware and hardware assembly design and/or concepts as related to missile and/or aviation weapon systems. Each individual shall have acquired this education and experience in one or more of the following areas of specialization: Aerospace, Mechanical.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance
Ability to pass a drug and BACKGROUND SCREENING
