I. Position Description
CH-47F Instructor Pilot/Standardization Instructor Pilot – Performs instruction and support of training involving the fielding of the new CH-47F (Chinook) helicopter and associated software. Performs duties as an academic instructor. Aircraft specific instruction includes the complete operation of the Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS), Blue Force Tracker and JVMF, and CH47F systems differences training. Briefs and debriefs students concerning performance requirements, actual performance, and makes final decision as to students’ successful accomplishment of course objectives. Serves as a training specialist in conducting job and task analysis. Assures the design of test instruments and training materials are technically accurate and functionally within known equipment and facility constraints. Develops technically and doctrinally sound instructional materials for training programs as well as conducts field and resident training materials/test validation.
Provides flight instruction as aircraft instructor pilot. Conducts aircrew training flights. Provides flight training on procedures, aircraft systems, operational procedures, emergency procedures, malfunction analysis, navigation, aerodynamics, radio operations. Conduct hands-on flight exams in aircraft as well as oral and written flight exams. Instrument instructor examiner provides both in-flight instruction and exams along with written and oral instructions and exams.
The individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.
