Job Description

The Management, Information Systems, and Quantitative Methods (MISQ) Department of the Collat School of Business at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor faculty member in Information Systems to begin Fall 2020.

The duties of successful candidates include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, including programming, business analytics, data visualization, all within an IS context. Specifically, teaching courses such as IS 417 – Introduction to Business Intelligence, IS 418 – Applied Data Science for Information Systems, and IS 617 – Data Science for Business (graduate level course) are required. Ability to teach SAS, Python, Tableau and Rapid Miner, along with other languages, is required as part of the material in the courses taught. Teaching online is also required as part of a masters program that operates 12 month per year. Experience in both program and course development at both the undergraduate and graduate levels is desirable.
