Job Description

Leads and coordinates multi-disciplinary efforts by conducting hardware system safety and other system evaluations. Supports system requirements identification and development process by evaluating and assessing planning, design, development, production and operations for Army aviation systems architectures (hardware and software). Prepares and writes formal Systems Safety Hazard Analysis Reports to categorize and summarize all potential software-hardware interaction hazards.

Performs safety-critical and mission-critical systems analysis throughout the life cycle from initial requirements through design, implementation, testing, delivery, and support. Utilizes excellent written and oral communication skills to maintain successful daily interaction with customer and teammates. Operates proactively with ability to handle significant responsibility, and attention to detail.

Required

  • BS in technical or scientific field
  • Minimum 9 years related experience, including experience in Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Aerospace Recommended Practices (ARP) 4761
  • Guidelines and Methods for Conducting the Safety Assessment Process on Civil Airborne Systems and Equipment
  • Familiarity with SAE ARP 4761 and/or similar safety standards
  • Experience with Army Aviation Systems
  • Some travel
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
  • Desired**
  • MS in technical or scientific field
  • Experience working with PEO Aviation and Aviation Engineering Directorate (AED)
  • Knowledge of the integration and verification of aviation systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office product suite tools
