In your role as an Engineering Technician II, you will perform assignments ranging from those that are not completely standardized or prescribed to selecting and/or adapting standardized procedures. Your assignments will also include the use of fully applicable precedents, executing based on initial instructions, equipment requirements, and employing advice from supervisors or engineers as needed. You will perform these tasks as both a team-member and independently. Your work will be reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.
Typical duties include:
Installation of test fixtures and test items on the various test equipment used at the dynamic test facility for the conduct dynamic testing.
Configuration of temperature conditioning equipment related to testing.
Assist in the identification of errors or inconsistencies with the test setup and associated troubleshooting after consultation with the Test Engineer or Senior Technician.
Perform routine daily maintenance function throughout the test area.
Follow specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
Conduct various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures, as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selection, preparation, and operation of standard test equipment.
What you’ll do all day:
Work as part of a team of Test Support Technicians.
Use your skills to assist with the setup and tear-down of dynamic tests.
Duties include: orienting exciters in proper axis, configuring slip tables and/or bearings, installing of test fixtures, hauling of explosives, mounting of test items onto exciters, installing/validating transducers, setting up heat exchangers and temperature conditioning boxes, and general maintenance.

Minimum requirements for this position:
Associate of Science Degree with a focus on mechanical or electronics fields from an accredited college/university and one year of applicable experience; or three years of applicable experience supporting engineering or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Ability to work in extreme conditions and temperatures both hot and cold.
Have a working knowledge of basic hand tools and general assembly of hardware.
Listen to and understand information and ideas presented verbally.
Read, interpret and understand drawings, rules, regulations, policies, work procedures and safety standards.
Must be able to work around explosives and missiles.
Be able to lift heavy loads within applicable safety standards and work extended hours with little prior notice.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Government security clearance.
Must be a US Citizen.
Desired skills and experience for this position
Have a valid Class C or higher CDL driver’s license.
