Job Description

Aviation Concept Developer, Senior

Key Role:

Plan and execute Aviation-related experimentation and review and update Army and Joint concepts, CBA and CNAs, and documented Aviation requirements in Joint, Army, Functional, and Special and Directed Concepts. Participate in workgroups, Map Exercises (MAPEX), and wargames to integrate aviation capabilities and requirements, support CONOPs development, FbAs, CBA and CNA, and Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System documentation, including using constructed scenarios and vignettes, data collection, data reduction, and analysis, and prepare reports and briefing materials. Provide onsite and off-site support for CEAD programs, projects, technologies, and efforts and support concept development while leveraging extensive experience, expertise, resources, and capabilities available within CDID, FFID, CEAD, and the Army as a whole. Plan, coordinate, attend, and document working groups in support of Joint, Army and Warfighting Functional concepts, Future Concept Center (FCC) Campaign of Learning events, and directed Limited Objective experiments in support of the Aviation Center of Excellence (ACOE) and other DoD organizations as coordinated and approved by Concepts, Experiments, and Analysis Directorate.

Basic Qualifications:

-15 years of experience as a Former Field Grade Officer in aviation operations

-Experience with working in operational experimentation and stochastic simulations, including Advanced Tactical Model (ATCOM) required

-Experience with planning, executing, and facilitating aviation-related constructive simulation, as a team lead conducting aviation studies, developing capabilities, and evaluating technologies required

-Experience with technical writing of concept documents and formal experiment reports required

-Experience with both manned and unmanned aviation operations and employment

-Knowledge of the Army and Joint Concepts, including Army Concept Framework, DoD and Army Aviation transformation, and computer operations and associated software, including Microsoft Windows and Office Suite

-Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree

-CGSC and ILE Graduate required

Additional Qualifications: (Preferred)

-Experience with participating as a direct team member in the Army Aviation Operations Capabilities-Based Assessment (CBA) Attack or Utility aircraft qualification and operational

Experience as an Army, Corps-, or Division-level planner or staff officer

-Experience with Army Aviation Attack, Assault Company, Battalion Command, S3, or XO

-Completion of the Capabilities Development Course
