Primary Responsibilities

The primary duties of the Major Bridge Technical Director include planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of large complex, multi-discipline projects with a high degree of technical complexity, involving a diverse project staff. A candidate with experience in delivering complex bridge design projects for global clients . Candidate must demonstrate extensive design experience in large complex bridges. A candidate with experience in delivering complex alternative delivery (Design Build, P3) projects is desirable.

The candidate will be involved with the technical oversight and coordination of several projects concurrently. Establishes client relations and is involved with marketing, contractual, design and production efforts. Conducts schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines. Ensures project deliverables and supporting documentation are complete, understandable, conform to applicable and industry standards relative to their intended purpose, including client and HDR requirements.

The duties of the Major Bridge Technical Director include overseeing and/or serving in a lead technical role or problem solving role on large bridge design projects. You will perform complex structural planning, analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects. Typical projects include suspension, cable stay, arch, segmental, extradosed, steel and prestressed concrete bridges. You must be comfortable being viewed as a technical expert in engineering analysis and design and have proven background of technical leadership on these types of projects. You will often perform as a technical specialist and supervise more junior engineers in the performance of engineering tasks.
