Job Summary Performs mechanical services and repairs on university vehicles.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

1. Completes routine maintenance services on university vehicles.
2. Performs mechanical repair on university vehicles dealing with tires, brakes, suspensions and electrical systems.
3. May perform complex maintenance and repairs on university vehicles dealing with engine overhauls, transmissions, electrical system diagnostics and heating and air conditioning systems.
4. May operate university vehicles on occasion.
Minimum Qualifications Entry into the applicant pool requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

Level I – Applies basic skills and learns advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment appropriate to area of specialization. Equivalent to an apprentice level in area of specialization. High school diploma or equivalent.

Level II – Applies advanced skills in area of specialization. Adapts procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs. Equivalent to Journey and/or lead level in area of specialization. High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years experience in area of specialization.

Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one prior to selection is required.
