Job Description

Forestall Company, Inc. is looking to fill 135 Forestry Worker positions. Work site(s): Begin; Fayette, Fayette County, AL 35555 @ $15.29/hr. Provided daily transportation to and from the worksite. Continue into States of AL, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, SC, TN, TX. This is a temporary, full-time seasonal position from 12/01/2019 to 03/01/2020.

Duties: Plant: seedlings/trees; raising & transporting seedlings to then sort tree seedlings, discarding substandard seedlings, according to standard charts or verbal instructions & other related Forestry Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-4011 (

Requirements: Must be 18 due to travel. Must show proof of legal authority to work in the U.S. Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco free work zone. Must walk substantially (up to 15 miles/day), also stoop, bend while carrying a pack (up to 50lbs) thru rough terrain (non-trail). No min. edu. reqmt. OJT All applicants must be able, willing, qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Based on Employer’s discretion/cost: Wrkr may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/ refusal to abide = dismissal. Possible background check post hire at employer’s expense.

Terms & Conditions of Employment: $10.95/hr up to possible $21.51/hr OT $16.43/hr up to possible $32.27/hr. Wage may vary. Based on Experience and/or location. The wage(s) offered equal(s) or exceed(s) the highest of the prevailing wage or the Federal, State, or local minimum wage. Possible Raises/bonuses/draws at employer’s discretion (draws deducted from worker’s paycheck). Piece rate may apply: worker will never make less than Prevailing Wage/Federal/state/local minimum wage.H&W benefits may apply. Cash advances may apply at employer’s discretion.

Possible daily/weekly hours: 8:00AM-4:00PM. 40+ (plus) to include lunch break M-F. Possible weekend/holiday work. (OT possible, but not required or guaranteed. If OT is worked, wage is paid at a rate of time and a half per hour worked beyond 40 hours each week.) Outdoors, exposed to weather; must be capable of doing physically strenuous labor for long hours, occasionally in extreme heat or cold. Variable weather conditions apply; hours may fluctuate (+/-), possible downtime and/or OT. OT not required. This employer will also comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws pertaining to overtime hours.

Transportation: Transportation and subsistence will be reimbursed (by check in 1st work week) for cost from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer, whether in the U.S. or abroad, to the place of employment.

Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $12.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $55 per day with receipts.

3/4s Guarantee: The worker is guaranteed employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of each 6-week period.

Tools, equipment & supplies: All work will be done with employer provided tools, supplies and equipment without charge or deposit.

Miscellaneous: Will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Wage paid every week. All deductions required by law will be done by the employer. Optional housing available at no cost. Will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (not including passport).
