Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talentedSenior Software Developerto join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
Candidate will work with our aerospace engineers to develop software for our Drone Simulation Products. The candidate will use software development techniques to define, design, implement, integrate, and test practical solutions.
Software development will range from development of desktop applications to integration of drone flight code to debugging soft real-time processes on embedded hardware. Familiarity and desire to work with hardware is required in order to design and integrate appropriate software solutions. Candidate will make meaningful contributions to multiple efforts, and may interface directly with customers to develop solutions. The team uses Agile (Scrum) and traditional development styles.
Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited school in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree with aminimum of ten years relevant experience.
Candidate must have these technical skills:
+ Proficient in software development using sound software engineering practices.
+ Proficient in at least one of each of these:
+ An interpreted language.
+ A compiled language without garbage collection.
+ A compiled language with garbage collection.
+ The languages we most use are C/C++, C#/.NET, and Python but willingness to learn new languages and technologies is required.
+ Proficient with one and familiar with the other of these:
+ Development on Linux.
+ Development on Windows.
+ Experience with software-hardware integration, digital communications protocols, and development with multi-threading & synchronization.
+ Willingness to learn code generation and S-function wrappers in MATLAB/Simulink.
Candidate must show the ability to work in a collaborative environment, and interface with customers, technical, and non-technical stakeholders on a regular basis.
The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, interest in working in a multi-disciplinary environment, and enthusiasm for team success.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL area.
These qualifications/technical skills are also desired but not required:
+ Master’s Degree from an ABET accredited school in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree
+ Experience with tools and techniques for unit testing, requirements development & management, design, build and release, regression testing, configuration management, collaboration and issue-tracking
+ Min of 3.5 GPA is preferred
+ Experience with unmanned aircraft and/or robotics
+ Experience with MATLAB/Simulink
+ Experience with code generation and S-function wrappers in MATLAB/Simulink
+ Experience with various real-time operating systems (RTOSes)
+ Experience with software safety
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
