Job Description

CyberData Technologies is looking to hire a Security Specialist to serve as the alternate Information System Security Officer (ISSO), with the NOAA National Water Center, in Tuscaloosa, AL. The ideal person should be highly experienced in Tenable security center, along with other industry standards for scanning and auditing software and hardware systems. This individual will be familiar with the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) for all major system domains, both on the application and interpenetration of the findings. They should also be familiar with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and skilled at developing Plan Of Actions & Milestones (POAM) for the organization. Technical writing and oral briefing skills are extremely important, as this position will need to brief senior executives at least weekly of the current status of the environment. They will develop recommendations for course of actions and evaluate findings from cybersecurity scans to management, while validating remediation efforts from systems administrators on their areas of expertise and responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

+ Ensure IT policies and procedures are compliant with Federal laws and regulations

+ Work with system administrators to ensure systems are patched and configured securely

+ Lead incident response procedures to gather forensics data and necessary supporting documentation

+ Lead IT security awareness training initiatives

+ Develop efficient IT processes that adhere to department guidelines

+ Create troubleshooting documentation

+ Develop, Monitor, and Follow organizational change processes

+ Update support tickets within a Helpdesk System.

Required Skills and Experience:

+ Bachelors in Technical field

+ Ability to obtain a NACI Public Trust

+ CompTIA Security+ or similar certification

+ Ensuring FISMA compliant and NIST-RMF compliant IT Systems

+ Vulnerability management and mitigation tracking

+ Basic knowledge of networking

+ Leading IT Incident Response Procedures

+ Maintaining accurate IT system inventories

+ Reviewing security impact of configuration changes

+ Creating and tracking IT Security implementation and improvement initiatives

+ Writing and reviewing IT policies to ensure organizational and federal compliance

+ Experience with Tenable Nessus Scanner or similar vulnerability scanning tool

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as customer interface skills

Desired Skills and Certifications:

+ Willingness to learn

+ Experience with log aggregates

+ Experience configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and servicing enterprise Audio/Visual systems
