OVERVIEW
i3 is seeking a mid level Mechanical Engineer to design and draft components for hypersonic and missile systems.
This position supports the Hypersonic Design and Systems Integration (HDSI) business unit. i3 HDSI personnel have over 35 years of experience supporting the missile system technology development for the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Missile Defense Agency, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. i3 maintains core competency in development and transition of advanced thermal protection systems as well as infrared windows and radomes for supersonic and hypersonic systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include design of prototype hardware, developing specifications, performing analytical thermal and structural calculations, and supporting manufacturing and fabrication efforts. The candidate will be required to generate design drawings and system schematics as well as conduct analyses to support and substantiate design approaches. Additional responsibilities will include generation of test plans, technical reports, and presentations documenting the work performed. Must be willing to take on assignments outside of comfort zone, in a demanding and exciting environment, and take on additional tasks as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Minimum of four years of relevant experience required.
    Desired Skills:
  • Experience in the use of CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS or PTC Creo.
  • Experience developing mechanical system designs.
  • A solid understanding of mechanical engineering principals and experience with the use of finite element or finite difference analysis codes such as ABAQUS or ANSYS.
    Security Clearance:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Security Clearance.
  • Active clearance is desired.
