Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION
Assist Quality Compliance Supervisor in establishing, implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System providing maintenance to the inspection planning, performing qualification and monitoring of processes and products, coordinating preventive and corrective actions, leading internal audits and interfacing with regulatory authorities and external auditors. This position is considered a quality subject matter expert. This is a hands-on role that interacts with Assembly Operators, Quality Inspectors, and Manufacturing and Process Engineers to proactively ensure quality and deliver products that meet and/or exceed customer expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Monitors, develops and informs internal and external customers’ on requirements in the Quality Management Systems are met
• Ensure that issues affecting product quality have effective corrective actions/plans in place that will result in resolution and/or risk mitigation plans that will minimize product quality
• Analyzes reports and returned products to determine quality trends and recommends correction action
• Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation
• Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place
• Reviews technical drawings and specifications for accuracy and inspection suitability
• Professionally represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects
• Advises and assists personnel in the prevention of discrepant material/processes, and methods and procedures for timely disposition of discrepant material; devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data
• Leads, participates and validate internal/external and supplier management quality system audits
• Investigating non-conformances to determine root cause, corrective actions and track effectiveness
• Maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities
• Develops training to build quality awareness in support of business needs
• Plan application of FAI process (first article inspection)
• Able to identify, lead, and facilitate Continuous Improvement activities
• Provide leadership and manage program centric quality teams including mentoring Quality Engineers and Quality Inspectors
• Provide technical expertise to company employees, suppliers, customers and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirement
• Refer questionable conditions or recurring difficulties to working leader or supervision
• Other duties as directed by the assigned Supervision

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The company evaluates performance, leadership skills, technical knowledge and individual achievements and these factors support the company in making decisions such as recommending personnel for promotions.

Job Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
• Knowledge with troubleshooting techniques and problem solving skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Knowledge and application of LEAN and/or Six Sigma tools
• Organized, show attention to detail and demonstrate good documentation practices
• Good communication skills, both written and oral
• Must have mathematical aptitude for performing data calculations. Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Word
• Demonstrates ability to learn new tasks and techniques

QUALIFICATIONS:
• This position requires an advanced degree with four (4) years’ experience, a bachelor’s degree with six (6) years’ experience
• A strong background and experience in a QMS environment
QMS auditing background, certification preferred
• Highly desired ASQ Quality Engineer Certification
• Ability to identify a trend, conduct root cause analysis, and use quality principles/tools
• Aviation Experience in Manufacturing, Maintenance, Engineering and/or Purchasing a plus
• A&P/FCC license a plus
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance
