Database Administrator/Developer

Cepeda Systems and Software Analysis of Huntsville, AL is currently seeking a full-time Database Administrator/Developer with Oracle experience in support of SDLC activities and Army development processes.

Support Army development processes to include, but not limited to:

Create ad-hoc queries. Design and develop schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, packages, and jobs. Test database objects and processes to ensure they are working correctly. Document database design and processes. Coordinate, plan, and manage complex database solutions. Perform database extract, transform, and load (ETL) operations utilizing a variety of file formats (CSV, XML, JSON, etc.). Extract data from Postgres, SQL Server, Hadoop, and Denodo. Translate business logic into database objects to facilitate calculations and reporting. Perform requirements analysis and make recommendations. Work with other team members to ensure timely completion of project deliverables. Develop and maintain best practices. Maintain required documentation. Provide alternative solutions to problems. Monitor database utilization and adjust configuration to maintain optimal performance. Perform database tuning and optimization.

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 hours with core hours from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.


Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related area from an accredited college or university, is required. Oracle 5+ years Software Development Life Cycle 1-5 years git 1-5 years Security+ CE required Oracle Database Certification required Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced development environment. U.S. citizenship is required Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance Available for occasional travel (up to 10%)

Experience with any of the following would be a plus:

Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Organizational and detail-oriented skills. Problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually. Ability to adapt to changing situations and requirements. TOAD 1+ years SQL Developer 1+ years Hadoop Certification preferred, 1+ years Denodo Certification preferred, 1+ years
