Cybersecurity Technical Writer

Key Role:

Maintain the client’s comprehensive IT and Cybersecurity policies, procedures, and strategies, including system documentation and templates in accordance with IT best practices, Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) requirements, National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) guidance, Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), Office of Management and Budget (OMB) mandates, and DoD and Air Force Risk Management Framework instructions. Develop Cybersecurity-related documents and other deliverables and perform quality assurance reviews before delivery to the client. Track the assessment schedule and coordinate assessment kickoffs. Coordinate with stakeholders to determine application and system testing readiness. Track project completion against plans, delivering accurate weekly status reports. Drive efficiencies and attention to project completion

Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with researching, preparing, writing, and editing technical documents, including Cybersecurity-related documents

-Experience with gathering, analyzing, and composing technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel

-Experience with editing documents to ensure grammatical correctness and conducting research to ensure the use of proper technical terminology

-Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Visio

-Knowledge of Federal Government Security Assessment and Authorization practices and policies, including FISMA and NIST Special Publications 800 series

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with supporting design initiatives for governance models, Cyber policy, or business process updates and improvements

-Experience with developing and managing executive-level documentation, reports, whitepapers, proposals, and briefings

-Experience with engaging stakeholders at various levels to define business objectives and prioritize goals

-BS degree in CS, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related analytical, scientific, or technical field

-CISSP, GIAC, CEH, TNCP, Security+, Network+, or ITIL Certification preferred
