Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments in accordance with the master schedule within the GD-OTS (Anniston) facility by performing the following duties. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Reviews master production schedules and related information to determine material requirements for each job and or operation in the production cycle.
+ Requisitions material and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments, according to job order priorities and material availability.
+ Examines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications.
+ Arranges in-plant transfer of materials and completed parts to meet the master production schedules.
+ Computes amount of material required to complete job orders.
+ Compiles and maintains manual, Excel, and Vantage computerized records such as material inventory, in process production reports, and status and location of materials.
+ Coordinates and directs movement of materials from one department to another.
+ Arranges for repair and assembly of material or part.
+ Examines material received, verifies part numbers, and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts.
+ Compares work ticket specifications to material used at work stations to verify appropriate assignment.
+ Confers with department supervisors to track material and identify overdue materials through each operation of the production cycle.
+ Notifies Master Scheduler when production requirements and or operations are not meet as established in the master schedule.
Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; 3-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer candidates with experience with IFS Enterprise software. Must be able to drive company vehicles and become certified to a powered forklift.
