Infrastructure Network Support – Senior

Duties & Responsibilities:

Support DCI Production network migration to the IP-TPE network and redesign of the Inter-DECC DMVPN Network. All production communication between DECCs and IA DMZs at this point in time utilizes a vendor proprietary IPsec tunnel technology called DMVPN, overlaid on the DODIN. In this architecture, routers in the IA DMZs serve as hub routers to for the Inter-DECC. In support of future decommissioning of the IA DMZs, and to provide a more reliable Inter-DECC, the hub router function shall relocate the data center Premise routers at two new datacenters locations. Also, to improve reliability, this DMVPN overlay will transition from using NIPRNet transport on the U-PE routers to NIPRNet VRF transport on the IPT-PE routers, when the NIPRNet Virtual Routing Forwarder (VRF) is approved by Department of Defense Accreditation Working Group (DSAWG) and is available. Will have an ability and access and authority for installing, configuring, monitoring, or troubleshooting the security monitoring functions of information systems/networks (e.g., network/system analyzers; intrusion detection software; firewalls) or in performance of cyber/network defense operations.

Provide network and communication support for planning and transition for the eventual uplink for data center production traffic from U-PE to IPT-PE (rehoming all production circuits off of User Premise Equipment (UPE) to -TPE. Provide technical, engineering, program, and project management support for successfully acquiring the DSAWG approval for the required NIPR-VRF. Provide engineering and communication support for 100 gbps upgrade efforts for the Inter-DATA CENTER backbone. Sites involved in this task shall include but are not limited to: Montgomery, San Antonio, Ogden, St. Louis, Oklahoma City, Mechanicsburg, and Columbus. Data center locations involved with this backbone may change with emerging hosting requirements. Provide technical, engineering, and project management support for successful circuit acquisition actions at each of the primary and secondary sites including requesting connections, issuing Telecommunication Service Orders (TSOs), approving connections , delivering circuits, and activating circuits. Provide engineering and communication support for the redesign efforts for the Inter-DATA CENTER DMVPN network including drafting engineering solutions, drafting engineering design solution reviews, development of final engineering design solutions, and developing implementation plans for primary and secondary hub sites.

Prepare technical documentation to include technical white papers, instructional, engineering solutions and implementation guides. Develop engineering documentation, implementation guides, and migration strategies in support of the blurring effort.
