The Role

This position provides leadership, direction, and functional expertise on complex projects/initiatives related to identifying, assessing, reporting and mitigating IT and Cyber risk for the enterprise\. S/he will proactively collaborate with business and technology leadership and other stakeholders to develop, recommend, and implement mitigation strategies\. S/he will develop measures to monitor effectiveness and progress of risk mitigation approaches and regularly report to leadership\.

Responsibilities

+ Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, both internally and externally, for IT and Cyber risk, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies\.

+ Directs and enhances IT risk initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area\(s\) of responsibility\.

+ Helps design and implement the strategy for the analysis, identification, and measurement of IT operational/business/security risk for his/her assigned area\(s\) or responsibility\.

+ Partners with leadership from across the enterprise and/or various business areas to identify and evaluate risk potential, and proactively develop strategic risk mitigation strategies\.

+ Gathers and maintains inventory of IT operational and cyber risks including monitoring status and progress of approach steps\.

+ Presents reports and status updates to key stakeholders and leaders to drive the mitigation of the IT organization’s top risks\.

+ Directs and/or strategically develops systems to continuously measure and monitor assets in term of operational risk\.

+ Facilitates the evaluation of alternative means of reducing the organization’s exposure to loss\.

+ Develops and executes on both strategic and tactical IT operational and cyber risk management plans to continue to mature the risk assessment program\.

+ Directs and/or develops measures to monitor the effectiveness and progress of risk mitigation approaches\.

+ Proactively set up meetings with to understand how to better navigate the organization based on IT/Cyber Risk team’s mandate\.

+ Collaborates with Enterprise Risk Management team to develop consistent risk mitigation approaches across the enterprise\.

+ A self\-starter and takes initiative to drive progress while building rapport with internal constituents\.

+ Resourceful and self\-driven, willing to do the initial due diligence on his/her own\.

+ Attention to detail and organization skills will be essential\.

Education

+ 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience \(4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s\) \(Minimum Required\)

Experience

+ 7\+ Years experience in IT/operational risk management in an enterprise organization\.

+ Developed/Managed/Designed an IT Risk Framework and/or process\.

+ Proficiency with risk management structures and governance frameworks \(NIST, COBIT, ITIL, FFIEC, ISO, etc\.\)

+ Knowledge of how a technology organization operates in order to lead interviews and meetings with senior leaders in both the business and IT on technology risks\.

+ Provided subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area\(s\) of responsibility\.

+ Identified and directed strategic process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team,
