Facility Preservation Engineer
Pine Hill Mill
This position is located at the Pine Hill, AL Industrial Packaging mill. The successful candidate will provide overall management and sustainability of the Pine Hill Facility. The position reports to the Manger of Engineering at Pine Hill Mill.
+ Lead Facility Preservation Element of IP Global Manufacturing Systems Standards.
+ In collaboration with maintenance, operations, and engineering to provide oversight on
+ Platforms and Ladders
+ Sewers and Underground Piping
+ Asbestos abatement
+ Roads and Rail
+ Equipment bases
+ Structural steel
+ HVAC systems
+ Piping services
+ Fire Protection
+ Cranes and Hoists
+ Dikes and Levees
+ Tanks, Chests and Towers
+ Unfired Pressure Vessels and Relief Valves
+ Demolition (abandoned equipment)
+ Buildings and Concrete
+ Develop and Maintain a sustainable 5 year Facility Preservation Plan with both capital and expense requirements
+ Engage as the International Paper Contract Coordinator for all contract work relating to facility preservation
+ Perform safety observations, safety and quality checks for suppliers and contractors
+ B.S in Engineering; B.S. in Civil Engineering preferred
+ 5 or more years of experience in industrial/manufacturing/maintenance
+ Professional Engineering License preferred
+ Strong Background in Safety Leadership and Work Practices
+ Some experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry is preferred.
+ Strong communication (oral and written).
+ Strong computer skills including proficiency with AutoCAD and all Microsoft Office applications.
+ High level of initiative and motivation.
+ Able to excel with minimum supervision and work independently.
+ Desire and ability to work as a team player.
+ Desire to aggressively learn and continue to develop knowledge and skills.
+ Ability to walk across the mill, climb stairs/ladders and work in a hot, humid and noisy environment.
+ Ability to work in a confined space or at heights.
+ Basic skills to analyze, design, install, and repair underground gravity and pressure piping for process sewers, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, water, effluent, natural gas, other process piping
+ Knowledge of soil properties to allow the design, installation and/or repair of roads, railroads, foundations, levees, retaining walls, protective structures used in excavations
+ Knowledge of building systems to allow the writing of specifications to replace/repair building foundations, wall systems, frames and roofs.
+ Ability to use AutoCAD, finite element analysis, RISA-3D, building and general codes (NFPA, IBC, API, OSHA)
