Job SummaryThe position plans, coordinates, delivers and manages outreach or extension educational services and programs for Professional & Continuing Education to accomplish outreach goals and objectives including communication, education, research, community, assistance and quality management.
-Manages the Auburn Youth Programs within the Office of Professional and Continuing Education both operationally and financially.
-The position acts as a liaison with many different senior level administrators across campus, external entities, and all units holding camps. The position manages the development of all OPCE Youth Programs and is tasked with growing the programs on a year round basis.
-The position will function as the lead representative of the office with regards to youth programs and manages the summer scheduling process for the campus.
-In total, the position will initially manage two full-time employees, a Martin Fellow, and multiple student seasonal workers (between 30 and 50 depending on the camp numbers and changing regulations for quotas of staff to camper ratios.)
-The position also manages the execution of the Minors on Campus Policy, the CEPS system for events reporting, and maintains the Summer Camp Policy Manual.
Minimum QualificationsEntry into the applicant pool requires the following:
-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Liberal Arts, Business, Education or related fields;
-plus (7) seven years’ experience in the design, development, delivery, and management of professional and continuing educational programs/services. Employer will consider advance degrees in lieu of experience.
-A valid driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one prior to selection is also required.
The successful candidate must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; a strong appreciation for the ethics of customer service; a positive attitude, an entrepreneurial spirit, as well as the ability to think creatively. The appreciation for the mission of a Land Grant university and the ability to apply that mission to the scope and purpose of a continuing education unit, in terms of program development and delivery is essential. Must be capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects and deadlines; ability to work with diverse groups in a variety of settings; and strong computer skills.

Desired QualificationsDesired qualifications are: a Master’s degree in disciplines listed above; extensive experience in higher education and identifying new program ideas; experience conducting needs assessment, program planning, and event management. Previous experience as a teacher/trainer is also desired.
