Job SummaryStudent Affairs at Auburn University is seeking applications for the position of Information Technology Specialist VI – Technical Support Analyst. This is a professional position responsible for supporting technologies and related services primarily for the Campus Living area of Student Affairs at Auburn University. For the purposes of this position, Campus Living encompasses Campus Dining, Housing & Residence Life, Property Management, and Recreation & Wellness. The Specialist is a member of the Student Affairs Technology team and reports to the Information Technology Manager. Specific job duties will vary depending on the needs of the organization and will range from providing assistance and/or providing second tier support to leading projects and/or providing high-level technical expertise on highly complex matters. Duties will also range from generalist work to in-depth support in more narrowly defined fields. Provides implementation, maintenance, system administration and support of specialized software.
This position will provide support to Student Affairs with a focus on Campus Living with attention to developing needs assessments and implementing IT-driven technical solutions based on knowledge of systems analysis. The incumbent will be required to resolve problems of a complex, comprehensive nature in areas including business and academic applications and processes.
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Provide system and application support for existing solutions in-use by the departments reporting to the AVP for Campus Living, including StarRez, CBORD (HMS Odyssey & CS Gold), Fusion, AiM, and others.
- Provide workflow solutions through existing Auburn resources and partnerships, including Office 365, Box, Zoom, Xtender, Adobe Creative Campus, etc.
- Under the direction of Student Affairs Technology leadership, represent Student Affairs Technology on implementation teams for new enterprise-scale solutions for various departments in Student Affairs.
-Provide end-user support on information technology issues through consultation and advising, problem identification and resolution, training and preparation/maintenance of documentation.
-Participate in projects and cross-functional activities related to information technology initiatives or processes.
Minimum QualificationsEntry into the applicant pool requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus five (5) years of experience in IT support and analysis. Employer will consider advanced degree in lieu of experience. Salaries are typically between $55K and $65K.

A high volume of interaction with non-technical employees and students is typical in this role, so the successful candidate will be service-oriented and exhibit a professional demeanor. Candidates must be skilled at organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple concurrent tasks.
Desired QualificationsDesired qualifications include previous work in an IT role providing workflow improvements through technical tools and general support functions. Experience working with third-party vendors and integrating applications with enterprise data. Strong project management skills.
