In your role as an Engineering Technician II you will: perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, select or adapt standard procedures or equipment, use fully applicable precedents, receive initial instructions, equipment requirements, apply advice from supervisors or engineers as needed, and perform recurring work independently. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions. Typical duties include:
Installation of test fixtures and test items on various test equipment used at the dynamic test facility for the conduct dynamic testing.
Setup temperature conditioning equipment related to testing.
Help identify errors or inconsistencies with the test setup and correct problems after consultation with the test engineer or a senior technician.
Perform routine daily maintenance functions throughout the area.
Follow specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selection, preparation, and operation of standard test equipment.
What you’ll do all day:
Work as part of a team of Test Support Technicians.
Use your skills to assist with the setup and tear-down of dynamic tests. Duties include orienting exciters in proper axis, configuring slip tables and/or bearings, installing of test fixtures, hauling of explosives, mounting of test items onto exciters, installing/validating transducers, setting up heat exchangers and temperature conditioning boxes, and general maintenance.

Minimum requirements for this position:
Associate of Science Degree with a focus on mechanical or electronics fields from an accredited college/university and one year of applicable experience; or three years of applicable experience supporting engineering or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization.
Must have a valid driver’s license,
Ability to work in extreme conditions and temperatures both hot and cold.
Have a working knowledge of basic hand tools and general assembly of hardware.
Listen to and understand information and ideas presented verbally.
Read, interpret and understand drawings, rules, regulations, policies, work procedures and safety standards.
Must be able to work around explosives and missiles
Be able to lift heavy loads within applicable safety standards and work extended hours with little prior notice.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Government security clearance.
Must be a US Citizen.
Desired skills and experience for this position
Have a valid Class C or higher CDL driver’s license
