SUMMARY:

To help knitters and fixers find machines that are making defects and have it corrected.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Check socks for defects through each line assigned, machine by machine

* Flag machine if defects found, by marking defective area with washable marker and placing on machine. * Record defects by type and machine number on clip board form at end of lines * Notify supervisor of a repeated defect on the same machine * Make sure face card information and yarn matches machine style * Turn in paperwork at end of shift * Use sock stick provided to retrieve socks from funnels during checks when needed * Keep continuous checking until designated break times * Other duties assigned by management are a part of this job description * Adhere to company policies, including attendance and punctuality * Communicate with co-workers, management and others in a courteous and professional manner; * Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions including but not limited to confidentiality requirements

* Positive attitude and ability to handle highly confidential information * Ability to reflect positive attitude and disciplined work ethic * Ability to work in a team * Ability to work independently * High energy level * Strong interpersonal skills * Demonstrated experience in being a self-starter * Ability to deal with internal/external customers with enthusiasm and professionalism * Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are essential * Must possess confidence, good judgment, energy and the right personality to work in a challenging environment

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

* Basic education in reading, writing & mathematics

* Good communication skills and work well with others * Basic knowledge of computer * Basic knowledge of defects common in socks
