Job Description

Requires answering of multiple telephone lines, radio communication with deputy sheriff’s, computer usage, data entry, communicating with the public, and other duties assigned.

A tour of the Dispatching Department is required before returning your application. Tours are available Monday – Friday of every week, between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm. No appointment is necessary. Please have the person conducting the tour sign your application.

Qualifications are as follows: Must have a high school diploma or GED from a state accredited institution; must have a valid drivers license; must be able to type 35 wpm and be able to operate a computer terminal and radio equipment, must be able to work in stressful environment on various shifts. A typing test and a written examination will be given at later dates. All applicants must pass a background check. Beginning salary is $10.00 hourly. Calhoun County is an EOE.
