IT Asset Manager
KBR is seeking an IT Asset Manager to be a part of the Aviation & Missile Center CIO/G6 team. You will use your expertise in gathering detailed hardware and software inventory information to develop and maintain an effective asset management program. As the Asset Manager you will support activities to manage IT assets in classified and unclassified domains, navigate procedural and policy boundaries to conduct on-site inventory of assets across the enterprise, identify and remove obstacles to the completion of asset inventories, follow established procedures for the decommissioning of IT assets, and manage supplies. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal, business management and customer service skills.
The individual will assists in forming procurement strategies and life-cycle IT asset management plans to optimize technologies across the organization. The IT Asset Manager will develop and implement procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles. This role will analyze and report on costs, charge back rates, utilization rates, and allocations to maximize ROI.
+ Integrate financial, contractual, inventory, and operational functions in support of IT asset management
+ Working directly with the Government to maintain a seamless transition from the creation of purchase orders, to the delivery of assets, through life-cycle maintenance, to the disposal of end of life items
+ Maintaining the accuracy of Configuration Items (CIs) in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
+ Manage policy deployment in the areas of operational excellence, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, and performance measuresTypical duties will include working directly with the Government to:
+ Define, maintain, and update policies and procedures for effective management of the IT asset life cycle (e.g., acquisition, deployment, utilization, de-installation, reallocations, and disposal)
+ Tracking and maintaining an accurate inventory of assets throughout their life cycle
+ Acquire, issue, audit, validate, and reconcile software licenses against the installed asset base
+ Identifying opportunities to fully utilize unused or partially used IT hardware and software assets
+ Define metrics, collect data, and report on the effectiveness of IT asset management processes
+ Assist in inventory management, procurement and shipment activities
+ Analyze purchasing effectiveness and resolve purchasing issues
+ Oversee contract negotiation, contract renewals and vendor management activities
+ Monitor and control expenses within allotted budgets
+ Monitor software licenses to ensure they comply with license agreements and usage standards
+ Plan, develop and implement strategies for operational management to meet agreed organizational performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales
Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or Industrial Engineering with 12 or more years’ of IT Asset Management experience
+ Candidate must have an active US Secret Security Clearance which requires US CitizenshipDesired skills:
+ Industry Certification such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) or Certified Hardware Asset Management (CHAMP)
+ Strong computer skills – expert in Excel to analyze large volumes of data.
+ Strong interpersonal skills
+ Leadership skills
+ Ability to bring order to undefined (or poorly defined) processes, as well as develop and implement processes
+ Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
