The Maintenance Foreman applies knowledge and skills concerned with all primary aircraft systems critical to the performance of the aircraft.
Maintenance Foreman I
Directly supervises maintenance team to ensure that all maintenance functions are completed safely and efficiently
Conducts morning meetings, assign tasks, ensure quality, ensure efficiency and completion of all tasks
Directs training requirements and ensure personnel have time scheduled to complete required training
Provides mentorship and help set goals for advancement for maintenance employees
Serves as liaison between Production Control, Site Supervisor, and Government Quality Assurance Representatives and maintenance personnel
Monitors work in progress to minimize overtime used in accomplishing contract mission
Participates in the evaluation of departmental performance, including the maintenance of charts, graphs, and preparation of maintenance reports and statistical performance data
Remains proactive in enforcing safety policies of the contract and the United States Government
Enforce company, corporate, U.S. Government and other rules, regulations and procedures toward overall attainment of goals and objectives
Assists Quality Manager to ensure that the Quality Management System maintains, its efficiency, is continuously improved and that the system complies with the requirements of the ISO 9001 or AS9110 Standards
Maintains on time schedules for assigned projects
The Maintenance Foreman may be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization
This position will supervise the day to day tasks and responsibilities of maintenance personnel. The Maintenance Foreman will consult with the Site Supervisor on decisions regarding hiring, performance management, employee relations, and terminations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Intermediate to advanced computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred
Ability to enter data accurately into databases.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with other crew members
Must possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others.
Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.
Ability to follow a process.
Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
Strong decision analysis and problem solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management.
Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to goals.
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently
Ability to multi-task
Climbs on top of and down from aircraft using aircraft hand/foot holds, capable of lifting up to 25 lbs. overhead, on feet all day, walk up to 2 miles per day
Maintenance Foreman I
High School Diploma / Equivalent
A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators and micrometers
Completed a military aircraft repairer school for H-47 D/F/G, H-660ALM, OH-58D, UH-1, AH-64ADE
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in Aviation Maintenance
Minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience
FAA A&P License
Thorough understanding of the Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS-A) and doctrine concerning aeronautical equipment maintenance management policies and procedures
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance
Preferred Skills / Experience:
5 years AVIM or Depot Level Maintenance Experience
5 years RDT&E experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Maintenance Management of Professional Aeronautics
