Job Description

Candidates location preferred in Montgomery/Prattville Region to coordinate Marketing for BayPointe Hospital.

BayPointe children’s hospital serves children ages 5 to 12 years and adolescent’s ages 13 to 19 years who are in psychiatric crisis. Children whose behaviors are life threatening, destructive or disabling or that require 24-hour monitoring and assessment meet criteria for admission. The program provides assessment and stabilization of psychiatric symptoms. The goal of treatment is to promote the highest level of functioning through an individualized treatment plan. The focus is on returning consumers to their homes or to the least restrictive level of care as quickly as possible, with comprehensive aftercare plans. The estimated stay in this BayPointe program is three to ten days.

+ Market services, to businesses, hospitals, health care, mental health professionals and community agencies in Mid to Northern Alabama Region.

+ Liaising and networking with a range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues, suppliers and partner organizations.

+ Arranges training seminars, utilizing internal and external resources, to educate doctors, nurses, counselors, social workers, EAPs, and other interested parties on mental health and substance abuse issues.

+ Conducts in-service training and / or briefings for professional and semi-professional groups with the ability to refer patients to AHS Hospital(s).

+ Pursues relevant conference sponsorships.

+ Works directly with the CarePointe Department and clients to ensure all admission and billing requirements are met.

+ Communicating with target audiences and managing customer relationships.

+ Proactively seeks out and responds to requests and inquiries from a variety of community resources for new business.

+ Maintains constant awareness of territory assignments and marketing rep daily assignments (locations) to ensure rapid response to any special needs, particularly related to service recovery.

+ Demonstrates an on-going awareness and understanding of the facility’s contracts with all payor sources (commercial, managed care, managed Medicaid, federal, state, local, etc.).

+ Reviews territory assignments periodically to ensure most efficient use of human resources and effective marketing strategies.

+ Maintains a territory that includes, but is not limited to, the most local area referring agencies.

+ Meets any required quota for contacts/visits/admissions.

+ Responsible for educating, leading and coordinating the organization’s efforts to effectively communicate and develop referring relationships (i.e. community liaison).

+ Maintains accurate reports on referral tracking and trends.

+ Provides Hospital Administrator(s) with Monthly Intake and Admissions Reports covering statistical data and information affecting admissions and marketing outcomes.

+ Provides Hospital Administrator(s) with Quarterly / Seasonal Plans covering business development goals and budget requirements for the appropriate quarter.

+ Actively executes tasks to meet customer needs and expectations and works towards long-term client retention as well as new business opportunities.

+ Surveys referral sources in the various marketing areas for quality assurance purposes.

+ Ensures all Marketing Representatives are provided sufficient materials to adequately represent AHS Hospital(s) (printed materials, novelty items, etc.).

+ Periodically accompanies Marketing Representative(s) on calls to assess conduct with referral sources and potential of referral sources.

+ Collaborates regularly with Department, Center, AHS hospital staff, and community providers to coordinate and facilitate care and follow up on referrals and admissions.

+ Adheres to professional code of ethics.

+ Arrange effective distribution of marketing materials.

+ Monitor competitor activity

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or communication; master’s degree preferred. Minimum of five years’ experience in medical/mental health care marketing and/or sales experience along with knowledge of business development techniques preferred; vision, commitment, leadership, creativity and the ability to make difficult decisions in a dynamic environment; excellent written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to prepare and present presentations in a clear, concise and effective manner; development skills; excellent multitasking and organizational skills as well as ability to establish priorities, plan, develop, implement, coordinate and manage marketing systems and programs. Broad knowledge of the mental health field with particular working knowledge of related programs, resources, and providers.
