Job Description

Oral Arts is a full-service dental lab, Veteran owned since 1970, which manufactures dental prosthesis, such as crowns, bridges, implants, dentures, partials, and orthodontic appliances such as retainers, splints, night guards, sports guards, etc. This entry level position provides a great opportunity and introduction into the field of dental prosthesis.

CAD-CAM Department Supervisor

Huntsville, AL

Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee department production
Ensure all material manufacturers’ instructions are being followed
Make sure all Rx’s are being followed in your department
Fill in at the bench when needed
Spot-check incoming work (bites, copings, opaque, abraded dies, etc.)
Spot-check outgoing work
Ensure that spruing is completed, all opaque furnaces, pressing furnaces and burnout furnaces are calibrated are as needed
Ensure the milling machines are calibrated and maintained properly
Ensure proper divesting techniques are used
Ensure technicians meet their daily production requirements
Maintain department supplies and prevent excess inventory of supplies
Ensure new employees receive proper training
Keep departments clean and organized
Perform other duties or projects as assigned by management

Required Qualifications:
2 years of experience in Crown & Bridge fabrication, including CAD systems
Must have a thorough understanding of porcelain pressing technology, crown morphology, and crown and bridge case design
Must be able to manage people, processes, and technology
With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirements of this job include the following:
seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly. Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time and may involve climbing stairs regularly. Additional physical requirements may include:Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
