Assistance Range Safety Officer

In your role as an Assistant Range Safety Officer, you will directly support a variety of Department of Defense weapon systems programs. Using your skills and experience in safety you will ensure the safety of your teammates in an active test environment that includes live weapon systems of various types.
What you’ll do all day:
Work as part of a team of safety and test professionals.
Apply Army and OSHA regulations.
Apply hazard analysis and risk mitigation techniques to maintain a safe environment while meeting mission requirements.
Research, analyze and communicate operational procedures and policies.
Actively participate in hazard analysis working groups.
Assist safety training activities.

Minimum requirements for this position:
High School or GED
Five (5) years of applicable experience supporting engineering or testing activities
Two (2) years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and three (3) years of applicable experience.
Ability to research, analyze and apply U.S. Army safety regulations.
Experience in hazard analysis and risk mitigation.
Knowledge and experience in military weapons, missile systems, and/or laser safety.
Occupational safety knowledge and application.
Good leadership and communication skills.
Working knowledge of range safety.
Willingness to accept responsibility to enforce safety measures, control range areas during testing and ensure the safety of all personnel.
Experience in writing and applying policies and Standard Operating Policies (SOPs).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Government security clearance.
Must be a US Citizen.
