Landscape Laborer. 8 temp, full-time positions. Work period: 4/1/20-11/15/20. Southeast Straw Co., Inc located in Opelika, AL. Fax: 334-749-6522. Tasks: workers will perform a variety of landscaping services, including mowing, trimming bushes, weeding, spreading and tucking pine straw around plants and in plant beds, and digging trenches. The workers will use shovels to dig the trenches. The trenches will be approximately 6 inches deep and 4 inches wide and will serve as borders for flower beds. 40 hours per week, M-F, 7AM-4PM including 1 hour lunch. No min education required, 3 months experience required. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work in hot climates. On the job training provided. Employer provided daily transportation to and from worksites in Montgomery Cty & Lee Cty, AL & Harris & Muscogee Cty, GA. Base Pay: $13.15/hr, OT available at $19.73/hr. OT hours vary. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any worker in the specified occupation, at the company’s sole discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill and tenure. Single workweek used to compute wages due. Workers paid weekly. Post-employment drug testing may occur based upon the employer’s “reasonable suspicion” of an employee’s drug use. Employer will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law. If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence provided at a rate of at least $12.46 p/day during travel to a maximum of $55.00 p/day with receipts. H2B Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, uniforms, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job, and guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least ¾ of the workdays in each 12 wk period of total employment period.
