General Summary

Applies advanced methods, to design, develop, maintain, and support technical infrastructure that includes network, hardware, database and/or system software components.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

+ Support the system development and interoperability using applied knowledge of the entire software development process including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test.*

+ Collaborate with developers and software engineers on high-level architecture, service oriented architecture design, network security, and related concerns. Support technical planning, model requirements, use cases, systems, and software architecture development.*

+ Develop reference architecture models, acceptance criteria documents and software support documentation.*

+ Support systems integration and testing.*

+ Facilitate and coordinate technical interchange and decision-making with internal and external stakeholders.*

+ Conceptualizes, models, and guides the logical design and development of systems architectures, and defines key systems capabilities and performance requirements.

+ Defines total systems design, technology, and interface operational concepts.

+ May act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership for lower level employees.

+ Designs and develops system architectures and defines key capabilities and performance requirements.

+ Defines total systems design and technology maturity constraints in accordance with mission requirements.

+ Develops system element architecture and design and interface definitions.

+ Defines system implementation approach and operational concept.

+ Develops models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development.

+ Provide an architectural framework for information system development, maintenance, and enhancement efforts.

+ Understand user and process requirements and ensure those requirements can be achieved through high quality deliverables.

+ Work closely with developers and engineers to develop road maps for applications, align development plans, and to ensure effective integration among information systems and the IT infrastructure.

+ Understand the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment, and evaluate the impact of changes or additions.

+ Travel up to 25% with or without reasonable accommodations

+ Analyze systems and perform usability testing to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, and meet security requirements.

Required Experience

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in related field such as information systems, engineering, or other related field, or equivalent experience

+ Active SECRET security clearance with ability to obtain TS with SCI access

+ 8+ years of relevant experience including DoD environments

+ Ability to brief, present, demonstrate, and speak to members of the armed forces, government officials and any stakeholders of the software product

+ Experience in software development and data architecture

+ Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

+ Sound interpersonal skills for interfacing and coordinating with company personnel, customers, and suppliers

+ Understanding of and ability to troubleshoot hardware and software

+ Knowledge of hardware and software interoperability with other systems over classified and unclassified government networks

+ Demonstrated experience with service oriented architecture software design

+ Thorough understanding of system security, security architecture, and security by design

+ Ability to work under minimal general direction to define, develop, and govern Agile System/Software Architecture methodology.

+ Experience developing Systems requirements, Use Cases, and Software Requirement Specifications (SRS)

+ Experience developing traceability solutions from requirements to design and software to test

+ Experience interfacing with other functional areas from Systems Engineering

+ Willing and able to travel up to 25% with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

+ Master’s degree in related field such as information systems, engineering, or other related field, or equivalent experience

+ Active TOP SECRET security clearance with SCI eligibility

+ Knowledge in software development using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

+ Knowledge with web development using the JavaScript API for working with text, arrays, dates, and regular expressions

+ Knowledge using the Node.js runtime environment for developing server-side web applications and possess basic understanding of the V8 JavaScript engine

+ Understanding of Military Standards and procedures

+ Knowledge of web-based dynamic data using 3D web-based globes and maps such as Cesium

+ Working knowledge of C/C++ and additional software development languages such as C#, Fortran, Ada, MATLAB/Simulink are a plus.
