Monitor all production processes; perform daily quality testing for manufacturing; retain production samples, as necessary. Research and development responsibilities including preparing samples. Tests incoming tea and coffee, and samples of packaged products from different points in the flow. Escalates issues with non-conforming products. Retains samples for testing. Monitors production processes and checks for issues regularly. Makes suggestions for improvements or fixes when there is an issue. Research & Development which may include following recipes for making up sales samples, packaging of sales samples, putting together flavors for coffee and tea products with direction, assisting in product development. Creates, implements, files, and checks production paperwork as it relates to production processes. Hours for this position are Monday through Thursday 6 am – 3pm, Friday 6 am – Noon.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of lab testing skills, methods, and equipment.
Food Safety Regulations and HACCP Certification
Understanding of SQF/GFSI certification and programs.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Works well under pressure.
Good math skills.
Proficient skill with personal computer and job-related software including Microsoft Office products.
Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines.
Detail oriented and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline-oriented environment.
Education and Experience Required: Associates degree in science or related field and one to two year’s lab testing skills, methods, and equipment experience. Manufacturing/quality assurance background with coffee/tea experience and/or dairy/beverage helpful.
