Plan academic and nonacademic activities for children’s programs. For example, musicals, plays, holidays’ celebrations, and Vacation Bible School. Lead children’s instructional and worship programs. Engage in instruction and teaching of biblical concepts using various methods such as lecture, discussions, and illustrated demonstrations. Make use of technology and other teaching aids whenever possible such as PowerPoint, projectors and white boards. Adapt teaching methods to the needs of the students. Observe students to determine their understanding of the concepts being taught and evaluate their abilities and interests. Encourage students to pursue their interests and make suggestions for improvements. Implement curriculum, plan educational initiatives for children’s ministries. Research appropriate religious curriculum consistent with church’s denomination for children of different ages and prepare lesson plans for educational events and programs. Establish clear objectives for the lessons. Plan activities such as field trips, vacation bible school or back to school programs. Coordinate with volunteers on the implementation of academic and nonacademic events in children’s programs. Implement communication protocols to keep volunteers and parents informed of activities and children’s progress in programs, implement safety and security processes with security team to ensure safety of children who attend academic and nonacademic activities.
