Overview

Navistar’s Huntsville Engine Plant is currently seeking a Senior Lead Controls Engineer to join our team. Navistar’s Engine Plant supplies our manfacturing facilities with the A26 engine and we will soon be breaking ground to add two new production lines to the facility.

We are seeking an engineer that looks to spend a majority of their time on the manufacturing floor providing production support and debugging systems as issues occur.

Experience in the following areas will have you hitting the floor running:

  • Krause Controls
  • Siemens PLC knowledge
  • Atlas Copco DC Tools
  • ABB Robots including Rockwell and Control Logix (CL 5000)
  • Cognix Vision Systems experience

Position Purpose

Evaluates, selects and orders equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacture of company products. Oversees the installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Maintains current records on equipment manufacturers’ technical notices, upgrades and safety issues. Studies equipment performance and reliability. Establishes programs and solutions for increasing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process. Provides technical support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations. Defines and writes preventative maintenance schedules.
Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 8 years of product manufacturing experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

  • Master’s degree
  • At least 6 years of product manufacturing experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

  • At least 10 years of product manufacturing experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills

  • Manufacturing/Production/Assembly Controls experience a must have
  • Siemens PLC a big plus
  • Experience with Krause Assembly Line Controls
  • ABB Robotics using Rockwell and Control Logix
  • Control Logix, preferably CL5000
  • Experience working with Atlas Copco DC Tools
  • Cognix Vision Systems experience a big plus
