The Controller is primarily responsible for the Business Unit reporting for our plant in Huntsville, Alabama with additional tasks supporting the legal entity reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):
? Prepares and reports timely and accurate financial statements to the division and parent company through the Lucanet Reporting System.
? Prepares annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
? Analyzes financial information and monitors variances to budget and forecast to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provides recommendations and maintains solutions as business and financial opportunities arise.
? Presents financial data to management.
? Supports month, quarter and year end closing functions
? Develops investment proposals for varying types of business cases according to group standard.
? Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs collecting operational data.
? Responsible for all cost accounting functions such as:
o Work order costing
o Cost estimation for finished product
o Production costing and variance analysis
o Sales & margin reporting and analysis
o Responsible for inventory and fixed asset utilization
? Continually analyzes processes and procedures and implement process improvements where necessary.
? Ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted company policies and practices.
? Supports VP of Finance for audits
? Responds to inquiries from the President, General Manager, VP of Finance, and other managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
? Performs all other duties as assigned
? Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Management
? Minimum 3 – 5 years of financial experience in a manufacturing environment
? Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
? Experience with ERP systems a must; SAP highly desirable
? Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and cost accounting practices.
? Knowledge of International Accounting Standards (IFRS)
? Ability to work with others in complex management matrix structure
? Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
? Must possess “soft skills”: conflict resolution and negotiation, personal effectiveness, creative problem solving, strategic thinking, team building, and influencing skills
? Expertise in dealing with people effectively and politely
? Willing to travel (primarily domestic)
? U.S. Citizen or qualified U.S. worker
