SUMMARY

This position is a rotational / developmental position for a future role as a territory sales representative. The position’s core responsibilities will be to address pipeline scheduling. The position will train in administrative roles in Asphalt and Light Oils Marketing to gain a thorough understanding of the business. The position will likewise train in a scheduling and logistics role for Asphalt Marketing. This position has administrative responsibilities and supporting functions that interface with multiple internal departments and external customers. The successful candidate must be willing to travel, have excellent interpersonal skills and able to relocate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Core Responsibilities (will be done on a rotational basis):

Invoice pipeline customers for bulk sales and communicates with treasury department to assure timely payments.

Schedules and tracks pipeline movements via Colonial Pipeline.

Keeps abreast of product available to submit timely nominations to Colonial Pipeline.

Coordinates origin sales with schedulers from other companies and inputs into Colonial Pipeline system.

Confirms third party transactions made by Trader.

Works with Pipeline Traders and other personnel for proper scheduling.

Communicates with and reports information originating with Colonial Pipeline as to policy changes and product specification to assure compliance with pipeline requirements.

Maintain HRC’s Satellite Terminal Sales, Inventory and Reconciliation Report.

Light Oils Carrier setup in Allegro/Diamond/RIMS, maintain carrier information & insurance records.

Perform daily reconciliation of all asphalt movements.

Reconcile all freight and material invoices related to asphalt.

Developmental Schedule (after learning core responsibilities)

First 6 months:

Continue to perform daily reconciliation of all asphalt movements.

Continue to reconcile all freight and material invoices related to asphalt.

Learn all responsibilities associated with Asphalt Marketing Coordinator role

Responsibilities considered mastered when the job is successfully performed for two consecutive weeks without assistance.

Shadow asphalt territory managers and visit terminals (occasionally).

Second 6 months:

Continue to perform daily reconciliation of all asphalt movements.

Continue to reconcile all freight and material invoices related to asphalt.

Learn all responsibilities associated with Light Oils Marketing Coordinator role

Responsibilities considered mastered when the job is successfully performed for two consecutive weeks without assistance

Shadow Light Oils Territory Managers and terminals (occasionally)

Third 6 months:

Continue to perform daily reconciliation of all asphalt movements.

Continue to reconcile all freight and material invoices related to asphalt.

Learn all scheduling, ordering and coordinating of asphalt logistics

Responsibilities considered mastered when the job is successfully performed for two consecutive weeks without assistance

Continue to shadow territory managers as time permits.

After 18-24 months and successful completion of training, the position’s responsibilities will rotate on a 3 to 6 month basis between pipeline scheduling responsibilities, vacation relief of previously learned positions and further development in sales.
