Position Description

Dynetics is seeking an Information Technology (IT)Applications Architectto join a diverse and highly skilled team. The candidate will help identify, design, coordinate, implement, and administer systems and applications supporting Design, Engineering, and SecDevOps in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.

The selected candidate will design, build, and maintain all components of the corporate infrastructure supporting systems and applications required for design, engineering, and SecDevOps efforts. The SecDevOps infrastructure provides services including source control, project management, bug tracking, security and quality audits/assessments, and continuous integration. The environment contains an assortment of components such as Windows and Linux servers, data processing clusters, network storage devices, web servers, and authentication systems. The chosen candidate will establish positive working relationships with other team members and developers across the organization. Customer interaction will occur daily and the candidate should be prepared to help customers meet their goals while working within approved guidelines.

Candidate must be able to establish, implement, and document application and technology integration, maturation, and migration strategies.

The position of applications architect is responsible for designing and implementing applications and supporting systems that enable design, engineering, and SecDevOps operations within the organization.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or IT-related field with at least3 years of relevant experience working with and supporting Atlassian software development and collaboration applications.

Candidate must have demonstrated ability to design, implement, and administer applications running on Windows and Linux based machines within a Windows Domain environment.

Candidate should be capable and prepared to provide all tiers of customer support, including but not limited to:

+ server OS and server application support;

+ client setup and troubleshooting for design, engineering, and developer tools;

+ general workstation troubleshooting;

+ and general network troubleshooting.

Candidate must have a strong technical understanding of information systems and information systems security, as well as experience in implementing and managing design, engineering, and SecDevOps tools.


Candidates must be willing to complete one of the following professional certifications within information security (e.g., CASP+, CISA, CISSP, GCIH, or GCED) and relevant computing environments within 12 months from date of hire to meet training requirements.*

Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and resident of the North Alabama area or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

A Master’s degree in the same or related fields would be a plus.

Leadership experience and ability to manage projects and project teams are a major plus.

Experience administering Microsoft Azure cloud and GCC High SecDevOps services is a plus.

Familiarity with the NIST Risk Management Framework, FIPS, FISMA, etc. is highly desired.

The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of design, engineering, and software development related tools, including, but not limited to:

+ Bitbucket, Git, Mercurial, Subversion, JIRA, FogBugz, Bugzilla, Confluence, Crucible, Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo, Fortify, Checkmarx, and Nessus;

+ Doors, Mentor Graphics, Creo, Windchill, 3dFX, Solidworks, and Agile PLM.

A customer service mentality and ability to function in a fast-paced, people-oriented environment is highly preferred.

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
